I've been using Aperture since it was launched. It works for me and I've now got a workflow which is very quick and works the way I want. There's nothing wrong with NX2, in fact it is a great software for processing Nikon files.
If it ain't broke....don't fix it!!

Now with Aperture 3, the program has got more interesting with video editing!
Hope this helps.

Hi Oz,

I found your Aperture workflow information very interesting, but wondered why you don't seem to use Capture NX2 for any stills imaging? I've been informed by other photographers that they found the Nikon software gave best RAW file conversions from Nikon cameras.

Thanks Hazel

Hello Oz,
I have also been to your courses in Calumet Birmingham and Kingston and found them very useful.

I too have upgraded to Aperture 3 and found issues upgrading my current libraries. It also seems to run a lot slower than Aperture2. Spoke to Apple and they have released a software update 3.1. Will try that and see if it resolves my problems.

Regards,
Jaz

Thanks Phil for your comments. I've read some comments on the net but personally have not experienced it. I'm sure Apple will sort them out.

Hello Oz,
I did your Portraits and Weddings courses at Kingston back in Jan 09, and the Nikon CLS tips have come in very useful -thanks.
Just a word of warning on Aperture 3.
I love Aperture and remember being pleased when you said at Kingston that you used it too. BUT.. there seems to be some sort of problem with the upgrade process to v3. The online blogs are full of complaints - the system locks or continually crashes, and some of my images were distorted. My library was 17k images, around 100 Gb. Fortunately I had everything backed up, but until Apple come out with a fix I've had to go back to v2. Note that new images loaded directly into V3 work fine, but be very careful about upgrading your current library. Hope they fix it soon - the feature set in v3 looks awesome.
Best regards
Phil.
